Winner of the 2023 University of Kentucky Film Fest award for Best Fiction, this short film was also featured in the Philadelphia Film Society Spring Fest and other festivals. It’s my favorite project to date. I co-wrote, co-directed, and co-edited it with my good friend Nick Volosky. The story follows a man who wakes up in a basement with two companions, a psychotic captor and another man trapped in severe Stockholm syndrome. Here is how we made it.

I’m really happy with how this one turned out. It’s made up of several hyperlapse sequences I shot around Philadelphia. A hyperlapse involves taking a photo of a subject, moving forward slightly, and repeating that process, sometimes over 100 times. I then stabilized the sequences in After Effects. It was definitely time-consuming, but I enjoyed every moment of it. Here is how i made it.
